We are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters and friends. We care about you, your family and your friends. Some of us are first time walkers and some of us are repeat walkers that have been truly moved by the 3-Day. We have loved ones with cancer and we have lost loved ones to cancer. We want to make difference so we walk to help find a cure.
 
Education is Power  -  Breast Cancer Facts:
The precise cause of breast cancer is unknown. Breast cancer can happen to anyone. Most cases of breast cancer occur in women who are not classified as high risk, a reminder that more research must be done in order to uncover possible causes.
The chance of a woman developing invasive breast cancer in her lifetime is about 1 in 8.
The chance that a woman will lose her life to breast cancer is about 1 in 35.
Every 13 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 15 and 54, and the second cause of cancer death in women 55 to 74.
Hormone Replacement Therapy has been shown to increase the risk of breast cancer.
Significant alcohol use (more than 1-2 drinks a day) has been associated with an increased risk of breast cancer.
Women who begin menstruating before age 12 are at increased risk of developing breast cancer.
Being overweight or obese is linked to a higher risk of breast cancer.
